Background

Maralyn earned her BA and MA in Political Science at the UW and was honored as Distinguished Alumni of 2008; she received the Rachel Carson Award for her environmental work in 2015; honored as Legislator of the Year from the Minority Business Advisory Council in 2017; Outstanding Democratic Legislator of the Year from the Washington State Federation of Democratic Women.  She also received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Washington State Democrats.
